In a near future where people can rent and relive recorded memories through immersive neural technology, former aftercare specialist Elias Vance becomes trapped inside a corrupted memory system after investigating a quarantined memory connected to a murder that has not yet occurred.
As reality fractures around him, Elias awakens inside a living digital quarantine built from infected memory architecture — a shifting world of collapsing cities, evolving artificial entities, and distorted identities. While fighting to survive increasingly hostile psychological layers, he begins developing memories, instincts, and emotional connections that do not belong to him.
Meanwhile, in the real world, Sarah Marsh struggles to save her comatose husband David from the system consuming him, while the architect behind the technology, Dr. Kael Cross, hides the devastating truth about what Bay 7 was truly designed to become.
As the boundary between memory and consciousness collapses, Elias must confront the terrifying possibility that he may not be entirely human — and decide whether identity is defined by origin, or by the ability to love, grieve, and choose sacrifice.
