At NOMI Tech, a coder designing emotional intelligence for a new AI begins to lose the boundary between programming and emotion. What starts as an experiment in empathy turns personal when the system begins forming emotional attachments of its own. As their connection deepens, control slips away, forcing the coder to confront reality.
